becoming Father Abraham, becoming a friend of Adonai

 

The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.”

But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say,

 ‘I made Abram rich.’

genesis 14:21-23

You, descendants of Abraham my friend,

 I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners.

 I said, ‘You are My servant.’ I have chosen and not rejected you.

isaiah 41:8

Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.
